In addition to school, his hobby was chess. Kolomoisky even managed to get the first rank in this sport. As a boy, he was also passionately involved in football. My father worked at the metallurgical plant, and my mother worked at the Promstroyproekt Institute.

Kolomoisky's first steps in business

After the law "On cooperation" was passed in the mid-eighties, a recent student and young professional decided to go into business. Together with his partners Aleksey Martynov and Gennady Bogolyubov, Igor worked in the cooperative "Fianit".

After some time, young people created their own cooperative, calling it "Sentosa". This happened after the collapse of the USSR. The sphere of activity of their cooperative is the resale of various goods, including office equipment, trade in oil and ferroalloys.

Construction of the industrial and financial empire of Igor Kolomoisky

Soon, the leadership qualities of Igor Valerievich and his already considerable financial capabilities by that time created the preconditions for the creation of a large industrial and financial empire, where his personal contribution was not only financial, Kolomoisky took an active part in the decision-making of this corporation. It was conventionally called "Privat". Initially, in 1992, he was one of the founders of PrivatBank. The bank was founded by four companies. In 2005, in one of his interviews, Kolomoisky reported that his share in this bank was thirty percent. Serhiy Tigipko was the chairman of the board. Who, having gone into politics, sold his stake in this group.

Who is he, Igor Kolomoisky?

In the fiercest competition at the time of voucher privatization, the Privat Group managed to significantly expand its assets. So, Igor Valerievich began to control the city market "Ozerki", the coke-chemical plant, the company "Ukrnafta", the ferroalloy plant in Nikopol and a number of other large enterprises. All strategic and most important decisions of the Privat Group were made not without the participation of Kolomoisky, and the ferroalloy business was almost completely transferred to the individual management of Igor Valerievich. It should be noted that his business interests were already in those years extremely multifaceted.

Charity and social activities of Igor Kolomoisky

Kolomoisky never stopped engaging in social activities, as well as charity. It is known that thanks to his financial assistance, the historical synagogue "Hurva" was revived in Jerusalem. Igor Kolomoisky in the civil service

A large Ukrainian entrepreneur entered the civil service in 2014 - he was appointed governor of his native Dnipropetrovsk region. He took office on March 3rd and made a promise to the public of the region not to do business.

Soon Igor Valerievich made a proposal to establish a two-meter wall of barbed wire on the border with Russia, he also called for the nationalization of the property of pro-Russian-minded oligarchs, as well as the transfer of three districts of the Donetsk region under the jurisdiction of his region.

During the conflict and the aggravation of the situation in the eastern part of Ukraine, the governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region found support from a number of Ukrainian organizations and political parties. He organized his own volunteer formations - such battalions as "Dnepr" and "Shturm".

Personal life of Igor Kolomoisky

It is known that Igor Valerievich is a citizen of two countries - Israel and Ukraine. As a charity in Israel, he made a significant contribution to the restoration of national shrines. Kolomoisky is married. His wife's name is Irina. The wedding took place when he was only twenty years old. They have two grown children - Angelica and Grigory. Since 2000, his family has lived almost permanently in Geneva.

Igor Valerievich Kolomoisky was born in 1963 in Dnepropetrovsk. He began his career as an ordinary engineer, graduating from the Dnepropetrovsk Metallurgical Institute. By the way, by that time he was already married and is still married.

Igor Kolomoisky on the right

In the 80s, looking for ways to build his life, he decided to go into business. He started out with friends in a cooperative, reselling a wide variety of goods - from office equipment to oil.

Possessing considerable leadership qualities, in the 90s, Kolomoisky began building his own financial and industrial empire. Fortunately, he has already managed to work out the financial component. He was one of the founders of Privat-Bank, and he participated not only financially, but also took leading decisions. The group, named Privat, soon expanded its "ownership" significantly, taking control of a number of large markets and enterprises. Today the oligarch owns fully or as a partner the oil refinery “Naftokhimik Prykarpattya”, the company “Ukrnafta”, “Dneprazot”, several ferroalloys, coke-chemical, iron ore plants; airlines "AeroSvit" and "Dneproavia", media holding "1 + 1 media" and other enterprises. His condition is estimated at more than $ 3.5 billion.

Social work

Igor Valerievich did not forget to engage in social activities, including charity. Being a Jew by nationality, he received the first financial investments in business from the Jewish community, which he never forgot. He participated in the revival of cultural monuments, and not only in Ukraine, but also in his historical homeland - in Israel. Since 1998, he was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Dnepropetrovsk Jewish Community, in 2008 he headed the “United Jewish Community of Ukraine”, in 2010 - the European Council of Jewish Communities. Since 1995 Kolomoisky has been a citizen of the State of Israel.

He is fond of football and is the owner of several football clubs.

Civil service

It so happened that in 2014 Kolomoisky went into politics, or rather, entered the civil service. He was appointed governor of his native Dnepropetrovsk, while making a public promise to engage in the development of the region entrusted to him, and not his own business. Against the background of an acute conflict with Donbass, the newly-made governor immediately launched "patriotic" activities, financing the creation of the Dnipro and Shturm battalions, as well as the National Defense Regiment of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Political Views

The oligarch-official is known for his irreconcilable stance towards the DPR and LPR and for supporting the pro-presidential course. However, some believe that the Dnipropetrovsk and Odessa regions, controlled by Kolomoisky, have already de facto become the third "center of power" in Ukraine, trying to pursue their own policies.

Kolomoisky, Igor

So, the oligarch, in fact, quarreled with Oleg Lyashko, the leader of the Radical Party, with whom relations were initially the most friendly; started rumors that he was financing Oleg Tyagnibok - the latter had to publicly refute them. And in the Donbass, Igor Kolomoisky is associated not with the Kiev authorities, but with an independent adversary with whom the region is fighting; some representatives of Kiev are inclined to view it as one of the main threats to President Poroshenko.

Personal life

Very little is known about the personal life of this character. He married early, while still a student. I met my wife as a teenager, having maintained a relationship to this day. Wife Irina did not "shine" in the press at all, since 2000 she has been living in Geneva with her children. There are two of them in the family - daughter Angelica (she is already married), and son Grigory.

Angelica, daughter of Kolomoisky with her husband

Currently, Igor Kolomoisky continues his activities. In August 2014, the Russian Investigative Committee launched a criminal prosecution of the oligarch, who was charged with “using prohibited methods of warfare,” “kidnapping,” “organizing a murder,” and other crimes. However, Interpol refused to declare the defendant on the international wanted list. The decision to arrest him in absentia, made in a Moscow court, is still in effect.

A family

He grew up in a Jewish family of engineers. His mother worked at the Promstroyproekt Institute, and his father worked at the Petrovsky Dnepropetrovsk Metallurgical Plant.

His wife's name is Irina. They got married when Igor was only twenty years old. They have two grown children - Angelica and Grigory. It is known that Irina comes from a simple family, graduated from the Pedagogical Institute and worked at a school. Since 2000, the family has lived almost permanently in Geneva.

Kolomoisky Igor

Together with friends - Gennady Bogolyubov and Alexey Martynov, he founded the cooperative LLC "Sentosa. The cooperative bought office equipment in Moscow and sold it in Dnepropetrovsk.

After the collapse of the USSR, "Sentosa" LLC started trading in consumer goods, ferroalloys and oil. Later, Sentosa LLC became one of the founders PrivatBank - now the most important bank in Ukraine.

In addition to LLC Sentosa, the founders of PrivatBank are companies - LLC Vist, LLC Som and CJSC Privat-Intertrading. Serhiy Tigipko became chairman of the board, and Leonid Miloslavsky - headed the supervisory board. During the voucher privatization, PrivatBank collected 1.2 million certificates, which amounted to 2.3% of the issued amount. The vouchers were exchanged for shares of the Dnepropetrovsk Hardware Plant, Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant, Ordzhonikidze and Marganets GOKs.

The media wrote that Kolomoisky and his business partners were patronized Pavel Lazarenko, who held a number of responsible government and public posts in the Dnipropetrovsk region in the 90s, and then became the prime minister of Ukraine.

The Privat Group was created on the basis of PrivatBank and the assets obtained after the voucher privatization, during which Kolomoisky gained control over Ukrnafta, the Kalinin by-product coke plant, the Ozerka Dnepropetrovsk market, Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant and other enterprises.

Today Kolomoisky practically independently manages the ferroalloy business of the Privat Group and all strategic decisions in the Privat Group are made with his participation. Kolomoisky's business interests are multifaceted, ranging from petrochemicals and ferroalloys to air transportation and ski resorts.

Kolomoisky has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 1998 Dnepropetrovsk Jewish community... In 2008 he became President of the All-Ukrainian Union of Jewish Public Organizations "United Jewish Community of Ukraine".

In 2010, he was elected President of the European Council of Jewish Communities (ECJC) for a term of 5 years. However, in October 2014, the Russian newspaper Izvestia, representatives of the ECEO reported that after 2011 the connection with him was interrupted, and he did not is a member of the organization.

In 2011, he was elected President of the European Jewish Union (EJU) for five years, created to coordinate the activities of European Jewish communities.

Kolomoisky is engaged in social activities and charity. He took part in the creation of the Artistic Arsenal museum complex in Kiev.

For the Jewish community of Dnepropetrovsk, one of the world's largest Jewish community center "Menorah" was built, financed the repair of tunnels along the Western Wall and the revival of the historic synagogue "Khurva" in Jerusalem.

In addition to Ukrainian, Kolomoisky has citizenship Of Israel and Cyprus... In his opinion, this is not a violation of the law, since dual, not triple citizenship is prohibited.

He is the president of the football club "Dnepr (Dnepropetrovsk)", as well as the basketball club "Dnepr" and the hockey club "Budivelnik".

In 2013, Kolomoisky decided to stop funding the Kryvyi Rih football club Kryvbas, Lutsk Volyn and Kiev Arsenal. Football observers believe that a similar fate may befall Dnipro.

Political activity

It is known that Kolomoisky actively supported and was considered "the constant sponsor of the orange camp of Ukrainian politicians" (by his own admission, he personally spent up to five million dollars to support the revolution).

According to observers, Kolomoisky initially sympathized with Blok Yulia Tymoshenko or, more precisely, Yulia personally, her compatriot.

However, he later began to support the team of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko... One way or another, as the media write, Kolomoisky has "the ability to find allies in the current government, whatever it may be, without relying on any of the political leaders."

March 2, 2014 by decree of the acting President of Ukraine and Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Alexandra Turchinova Igor Kolomoisky was appointed head of the regional administration of the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine.

In June 2014, he proposed to put a wall in the form of a two-meter grid with barbed wire on the border with Russia.

On June 21, Igor Kolomoisky turned to the government of Ukraine with a proposal to transfer three districts of the neighboring Donetsk region to the jurisdiction of the Dnipropetrovsk regional state administration: Aleksandrovsky, Veliko-Novoselkovsky and Krasnoarmeysky. Deputy Chairman of Dnipro Gennady Korban pointed to the temporary nature of this measure, necessary to restore normal life on the ground after the cessation of hostilities.

Also, Kolomoisky proposed to nationalize the property of the pro-Russian oligarchs who support the DPR and LPR, and then transfer it under the control of a specially created joint-stock company, and distribute the shares to participants in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine (ATO).

It is believed that the territories of Ukraine controlled by Kolomoisky - Dnepropetrovsk and Odessa regions, where Kolomoisky's main assets are located - form a kind of conditional third center of power in Ukraine (along with Kiev and Donetsk and Lugansk regions), pursuing a relatively independent policy.

Perhaps this is why Kolomoisky contains Regiment of national protection of the Dnipropetrovsk region, finances volunteer battalions of territorial defense of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and volunteer special battalions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. He also finances a number of his own volunteer armed groups, such as the Shturm and Dnepr battalions, spending up to $ 10 million a month on their maintenance.

Kolomoisky introduced the practice of paying a monetary reward of 10 thousand US dollars for each captured representative of the DPR and LPR. It is believed that "Kolomoisky and his people are one of the main, today, internal threats for the President Poroshenko".

Kolomoisky is supported by representatives of various Ukrainian political parties and organizations, from VO "Freedom", "Self-Defense of the Maidan", "Right Sector", - to the "Party of Regions"; and also, he is unconditionally supported by the leaders of the Jewish community of Dnepropetrovsk, who have significant financial resources.

Igor Kolomoisky and his administration previously had friendly relations with the leader of the Radical Party Oleg Lyashkobut later their relationship soured. In July 2014, Kolomoisky ordered to organize the persecution of Lyashko in the media controlled by him.

"He is not public, but powerful and influential," the Ukrainian edition of "Mirror of the Week" noted. In the circle of businessmen Kolomoisky is called "Benya" (supposedly, "in character" he is very similar to the hero of Babel's story "the king of the raiders" Benzion Krik, although, according to another version, Kolomoisky received his nickname for the outward resemblance to the main character of the cartoon "Boniface's Vacation"). "He rarely wears a tie, has a colorful appearance and a free demeanor. But his 'frivolity' is just an illusion," he wrote about Kolomoisky "Focus".

March 25, 2015 President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a decree on the resignation of Igor Kolomoisky from the post of governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region. The presidential press service reported that this decision was made after a personal meeting of the head of state with the former governor. Appointed Acting Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Administration Valentin Reznichenko... Prior to that, he headed the Zaporozhye region for a month.

"There is nothing personal in the decisions I have made. We are talking only about principles," he said in a statement made in Dnepropetrovsk. Poroshenko presidential press service. The head of Ukraine stressed that the civil service should be separate from business.

"Private business should manage private assets, the state - state. For me, security in the state is very important, and no security firms are allowed to interfere with the peace of civilians with weapons," the president stressed.

On March 29, 2015 in Dnepropetrovsk the farewell meeting of the team of ex-governor Igor Kolomoisky took place. An hour before the start of the action, only police officers in uniform and civilian clothes could be seen on the Heroes of the Maidan Square. The roofs and upper floors of houses overlooking the square were carefully checked by law enforcement officers.

No statements about the creation of a new political force (as expected by many) were made.

On April 10, 2015, the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine resumed the investigation of the criminal case opened against Kolomoisky on charges of organizing the attempt on the life of lawyer Sergei Karpenko.

September 6, 2015 State Council of Crimea recognized the land under the nationalized Crimean objects of the Ukrainian oligarch Igor Kolomoisky as the property of the republic.

Head of the Republic Sergey Aksenov explained this decision by the fact that the objects belonging to the oligarch were nationalized by the parliament, and there was no similar decision on land.

On September 19, 2015, the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine described the property of PJSC "Ukrnafta" as a tax lien. This is stated in the message of the State Fiscal Service. As of September 14 total amount the described property is UAH 7.6 billion.

As noted in the fiscal service, debt "Ukrnafta" before the budget is more than UAH 8 billion.

Debt "Ukrnafta" the rent for the extraction of hydrocarbons is 5.5 billion hryvnia (261 million dollars at the current exchange rate). At the same time, Kolomoisky before the meeting of the supervisory board "Ukrnafta" previously told reporters that the company would pay off "Nafogaz" only after he pays off his 50 billion hryvnia debt ($ 2.4 billion at current exchange rates).

** Ukrnafta ** also refuses to pay the state UAH 1.8 billion ($ 85 million) in dividends accumulated over three years (the deadline for payment expired on April 10). The company explains its refusal to pay dividends by the fact that "Naftogaz" in 2008 withdrew from "Ukrnafta" gas for 2.6 billion hryvnia (123 million dollars) and still has not paid for it. IN "Naftogaz" consider this reasoning to be incorrect and contrary to the law.

State represented by "Naftogaz" controls 50% plus one share "Ukrnafta", the Privat group of businessman Igor Kolomoisky - 42% of shares. Experts call the relationship between the two main shareholders a corporate conflict.

condition

2012 - according to the "TOP-100 of the richest Ukrainians" of the "Correspondent" magazine, Igor Kolomoisky's fortune is $ 3.4 billion, according to the "Focus" magazine - $ 4.187 billion, and according to the "Forbes Ukraine" magazine - $ 3.0 billion.

He was repeatedly mentioned in the media as the richest citizen of Israel.

Scandals, rumors

Igor Kolomoisky is a defendant in many scandals and criminal cases. He is credited with numerous attempts at raider seizures of Ukrainian enterprises, and the Privat group is called "the largest raider in Ukraine."

The structure of "Privat" - the security company "BOG - Security. Security. Guarantee", organized by the former head of the Dnepropetrovsk regional ATC General Kozin, has repeatedly participated in the security of raider operations.

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine was investigating the practice of allegedly unfair competition among companies controlled by Kolomoisky. In 2003, the committee imposed a fine on such companies of Kolomoisky as Avias and Sentosa Oil in the amount of 52.4 million and 46.4 million hryvnias.

Later, the Krebo company associated with Kolomoisky was fined 125 million hryvnia. In order not to pay fines, assets were withdrawn from all these companies, and the companies themselves were artificially bankrupt.

In 2003, Kolomoisky acted as a defendant in a criminal case. He was accused of allegedly threatening the director of the Dnepropetrovsk consulting company "Fargo" lawyer Sergey Karpenko... According to media reports, Karpenko unsuccessfully appealed to law enforcement agencies with a request to protect him from threats from Kolomoisky. In August of the same year, the lawyer was assassinated, he was seriously wounded, but survived.

It was only in the summer of 2005 that a decision was made to initiate a new criminal case (based on the existing one) against Kolomoisky. This time he was accused of allegedly ordering the murder of Karpenko, because he interfered with business interests.

The businessman himself linked his criminal prosecution with the conflict between him and the owner of the Energy Standard group Konstantin Grigorishinwho threatened Kolomoisky with arrest if he refused to issue him a power of attorney to manage shares in energy companies.

A few days later, the decision to initiate a criminal case against Kolomoisky was canceled: the investigation found no evidence of the businessman's involvement in the attempt on Karpenko.

After being appointed to a public office, he received a critical assessment from Vladimir Putin during a press conference on March 4, 2014: "... He even our oligarch Abramovich cheated two or three years ago. As we say in the circles of the enlightened intelligentsia, "threw" ... And now such a scoundrel is made the governor, sent to Dnepropetrovsk. Of course people are not happy. "

At the same time, earlier Kolomoisky spoke very sharply about Viktor Yanukovych and Vladimir Putin, calling them "two schizophrenics."

In 2011, Kolomoisky was placed in second place in the rating of enemies of the press according to the version of the Nezavisimyj media trade union and the Institute of Mass Information.

June 21, 2014 Igor Kolomoisky together with the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov were declared by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation on the international wanted list (later the Basmanny District Court of Moscow ruled to arrest Kolomoisky in absentia) on suspicion of "organizing a murder", "using prohibited means and methods of warfare", "kidnapping a person" and "obstructing the legitimate activities of a journalist" in during the armed confrontation in the east of Ukraine.

All investigations are conducted for the future, since the investigation has no real opportunity to bring the accused to justice.

On August 1, 2014, the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia sent materials to Interpol to start an international search for Kolomoisky. October 2, acting Head of the RF IC Department Alexander Drymanov reported on the refusal of Interpol to declare him on the international wanted list.

After being released on the TV channel controlled by Kolomoisky "1+1" of the next plot dedicated to Oleg Lyashko, the latter accused Kolomoisky of bringing his mother to a pre-infarction state, called him a "parhata muzzle" (a rough allusion to Kolomoisky's Jewish origin) and threatened to kill him if something happened to her.

Kolomoisky's "toxic" assets in Crimea

The London High Court has arrested the assets of the Ukrainian oligarch Igor Kolomoisky around the world, including in Crimea. Will this have any consequences for their current "owners"?

High Court of London issues an arrest warrant for the assets of Ukrainian entrepreneurs Igor Kolomoisky and Gennady Bogolyubov... This decision was made as interim measures in a claim filed against entrepreneurs by Ukrainian PrivatBank.

Igor Kolomoisky immediately commented on the arrest of his assets by a London court. “This is a temporary arrest while the case is being considered in court,” he said in a commentary.

As you know, Kolomoisky and Bogolyubov were the owners of this bank, but in 2016 the Ukrainian authorities decided to nationalize it. After that, the investigative authorities of Ukraine initiated several cases at once related to the activities of the former management of PrivatBank.

It is noteworthy that PrivatBank passed into state ownership a year ago - on December 21, 2016.

In this story, we are primarily interested in the Crimean assets of Kolomoisky, which are now also seized by a London court.

Crimean property of Kolomoisky

Several days before the final registration of the annexation of Crimea, PrivatBank branches stopped their work on the peninsula. The bank's depositors and clients were shocked. For many, the “Ukrainian junta” faded into the background, and the owner of “Privat”, Igor Kolomoisky, became the enemy number one.

The Russian authorities in Crimea, without hesitation, in September 2014 “nationalized” the property of the obstinate Ukrainian oligarch, announcing that the money from the sale of his “factories, newspapers, ships” would be used to pay “defrauded depositors”. More than 100 various assets of the businessman, including the famous Foros sanatorium in Yalta, fell under the "nationalization".

The Ukrainian billionaire immediately announced that he would demand from Russian Federation compensation in the amount of $ 2 billion for the "nationalization" of Crimean assets.

As a result, Kolomoisky filed 6 lawsuits against Russia. His companies demanded compensation for damage associated with the loss of Crimean property. In the first five lawsuits, Kolomoisky's structures estimated the total damage at $ 1.2 billion.

In early February 2016, it became known that the Stockholm Arbitration Court (Sweden) accepted for consideration the claims of PrivatBank for lost assets in connection with the illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia in the amount of about $ 1 billion.

By the way, in February 2015 the Russian head of Crimea Sergey Aksenov stated that the value of Kolomoisky's assets left in Crimea was only about 4-5 billion rubles (about $ 70 million at the rate in force at that time).

It is not known which of them gives the correct estimates, but, according to experts, only the Tavria hotel and recreation complex in Foros and the Nautilus apartment complex in Gurzuf cost $ 20 million each.

Of the well-known property of PrivatBank and its owner, 39 offices of the bank, 359 ATMs and 557 payment terminals located on the peninsula fell under "nationalization".

The list of property also includes 82 objects, including 43 apartments in Yalta, property of the Geolog boarding house in Gurzuf, more than 30 real estate objects in Kerch, suburban children's institution health improvement and recreation in Alushta, non-residential buildings in Simferopol.

In addition, the network of 32 gas stations owned by the oligarch was "nationalized" in Crimea, and the Belbek airport and oil depot in Sevastopol.

Kolomoisky, Igor Valerievich

The latter he owned jointly with a Russian businessman and former Deputy Minister of Transport of Russia Alexander Annenkov.

Crimean "wealth" of the Ukrainian oligarch

Part of Igor Kolomoisky's property has already been sold by the Russian authorities of the peninsula. The Foros sanatorium was one of the first to go under the hammer - it was acquired in early 2016 for 1.2 billion rubles ($ 20 million at the exchange rate - ed.) By the Federation of Trade Unions of Tatarstan. But a few months later it became known that the final buyer was Tatneft.

In the summer of this year, Sergei Aksenov said that 30% of the assets of the Ukrainian oligarch were put up for sale in the amount of about 1.8 billion rubles ($ 31 million at the exchange rate - author).

And the Minister of Property and Land Relations Anna Anyukhina reported that “in 2017 we planned to attract 500 million rubles from the auction, but the oligarch's property was sold only for 205 million. Unfortunately, Igor Kolomoisky's petrol stations are not for sale, although they are in excellent condition and ready to work even now, only the owner is missing. "

Now any businessman will think about whether it is worth touching such "toxic" assets

But all this was before the decision of the High Court of London to seize the assets of Igor Kolomoisky. The arrest, of course, was also imposed on the property located in the Crimea. That radically changes the picture of legal relations and actions with such property. Now any businessman will think about whether it is worth touching such “toxic” assets. Those who have already managed to grab a piece of Kolomoisky's property can soon expect dubious pleasure in the form of sectoral and personal sanctions.

By the way, if the court in London satisfies the claim and confiscates the assets, they will become the property of the Ukrainian state-owned PrivatBank. According to media reports, such a decision is being sought by the Western partners of the financial institution, to whom the bank owes large sums.

In childhood, parents teach kids that they cannot take someone else's. But parental science does not reach some. And when such children grow up, as a result of their actions, wars, annexations, property confiscations and other crimes occur.

The seizure of shares and a ban on the alienation of assets of three Russian banks in Ukraine carries risks for Ukrainian companies and banks with a state share, since this creates conditions for similar actions for foreign creditors, Yuridicheskaya Practika reports.

"The decision of the Kiev Court of Appeal and the potential foreclosure on shares and assets of Ukrainian banks creates, first of all, risks for the state of Ukraine in connection with possible investment claims from the respective banks on the basis of the same agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers and the Government of the Russian Federation on encouragement and mutual protection investments of November 27, 1998 ", - the lawyers say.

The creation of a precedent for the recovery of property and shares of companies associated through a share of corporate rights with state structures of the Russian Federation will create a risk for companies and banks that are in full or partial state property of Ukraine if Ukrainian creditors try to recover the assets of these Ukrainian companies and banks, including in foreign jurisdictions, experts say. The lawsuits against Ukraine will use similar logic and arguments, they say.

In addition, as stated in the material, during the consideration of the case, the Kiev Court of Appeal took measures to secure the claim against the shareholders of Ukrainian banks and the Ukrainian banks themselves, which in fact are not and, in principle, cannot be either parties to the arbitration agreement or parties to an investment dispute. Also, the court ignored the principle of the absence of responsibility of legal entities for the obligations of their direct and indirect shareholders / participants, the material emphasizes.

In addition, according to experts, controversial issue when the court makes this decision, it is the fact that it did not take into account the provisions of procedural legislation on the possibility of considering an application for the recognition and enforcement of an arbitral award by the courts of Ukraine only in two cases.

Igor Kolomoisky biography

The first is if the debtor is located on the territory of Ukraine. The second - if the debtor's property is located on the territory, which the court did not investigate at all when considering the case, as well as the question of whether shares, assets or property of Ukrainian banks can be considered property of the Russian Federation, lawyers say.

Recall that on September 12, the Court of Appeal arrested the shares of Prominvestbank (owned by the Russian state corporation Vnesheconombank), Sberbank (owned by the Russian Sberbank) and VTB Bank (owned by the Russian state bank VTB). Thus, the court satisfied the application of a number of companies associated with Igor Kolomoisky and his partners (including PJSC Aerobud, LLC Privatofis, LLC Privatland, LLC Everest Estate, LLC Teleradiocompany Zhisa, LLC Crimea Development, LLC AMC Financial Capital, LLC AMC Financial Vector etc.).

Later, the Supreme Court refused to remove the arrest from the shares and real estate of Ukrainian subsidiaries of Russian banks.

Despite the fact that the seizure of Prominvestbank's shares in a Ukrainian court was achieved by the structure of "Privatovtsy", the Russian Vnesheconombank announced its intention to sue Ukraine as a state in international arbitration.

Igor Kolomoisky is one of the most famous and richest people in Ukraine, who is now considered a promising politician in the country. He is actively involved in the "renewal" of the Ukrainian state, and therefore won an ambiguous attitude towards himself from the general public. In addition, the businessman is the founder of the largest financial and industrial company Privat, which has a colossal scope of activity in the metallurgical, banking, and oil refining sectors. At the same time, the Privat industry includes media business, sports, food industry and the agricultural sector.

Kolomoisky Igor Valerievich was born on February 13, 1963 in the capital of one of the most promising Ukrainian regions today, Dnepropetrovsk, into a Jewish family. His parents worked as engineers at city-forming enterprises - his mother at the Promstroyproekt Institute, and his father worked at a local metallurgical plant. From childhood, the future billionaire showed himself to be a purposeful, serious and diligent child, to whom everyone, from neighbors to teachers, predicted a bright future.

Kolomoisky graduated with honors from the local school number 21, he was a round excellent student in all subjects. In addition to school sciences, Igor Valerievich was fond of sports, especially football and chess. Having a red diploma, the future businessman easily entered the Dnepropetrovsk Metallurgical Institute, from the walls of which he left as a certified engineer and was assigned to a design organization. As a metallurgical engineer, the future billionaire did not work for long - since 1988, he and his friends Gennady Bogolyubov and Alexey Martynov decided to go into business, in which he could achieve brilliant results and "put together" a powerful empire in Ukraine.

Business

The business of Igor Kolomoisky started during the collapse of the USSR, when many people were able to get into “their own stream” on the ruins of the republic without significant investment. Then the future oligarch founded the Sentosa company, engaged in the resale of various goods, which included office equipment, consumer goods, as well as oil and ferroalloys. For several years, the successful entrepreneur managed to earn his first million, which he invested in business development.

In 1992, he and his partners founded Privatbank, which was founded by four companies, but a significant percentage of the shares were in the hands of Kolomoisky. Later, the private bank grew into a great and powerful empire called Privat, the assets of which include at least 100 large enterprises in Ukraine and the world.

The most significant assets of Igor Kolomoisky are Ukrnafta, Nikopolsky, Zaporizhzhya and Stakhanovsky ferroalloy plants, Neftekhimik oil refinery, Krivoy Rog iron ore plant, Aerosvit airline and 1 + 1 media media holding. At the same time, the oligarch's Privatbank is the largest banking institution in Ukraine, it has more than 22 million customers in 12 countries.

In addition to domestic enterprises, Kolomoisky's business is widely spread in the West. The Jewish Ukrainian oligarch has a stake in Central European Media Enterprises, the British oil and gas company JKX Oil & Gas, and also owns leading television companies in Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Romania and Slovakia. Also in the assets of Igor Valerievich there are several dozen world offshore companies, most of which are located in Cyprus.

Politics

Social and political activities of Igor Kolomoisky before recent years was based solely within the framework of protecting the interests of the "United Jewish Community of Ukraine", which he headed in 2008. But at the beginning of 2014, he managed to reach the highest echelons of the Ukrainian government and become the governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region. Then he promised not to do his business and completely immerse himself in politics, which never happened.

The governorship of Kolomoisky fell on the period when he came to power, the policy of which did not correspond to the interests of the Ukrainian oligarch. At the same time, in the east of the country, it began among the population of the Lugansk and Donetsk regions with the new Kiev government. After the signing of the law on the introduction of ATO in the Donbass, Kolomoisky took an active part in organizing, sponsoring and controlling the conduct of a special operation in the southeastern region of the country, since all his metallurgical assets are concentrated there to a greater extent.

A year later, between Kolomoisky and Poroshenko happened, concentrated around the company "Ukrnafta", 50% of the shares of which belong to the state. The Ukrainian oligarch, with the help of armed machine gunners and loud threats to the government, tried to protect his own people, for which he was reprimanded for violating professional ethics.

In March 2015, the Ukrainian head pee from the governor's post, after which the billionaire announced that he would be doing his life's work.

Sponsorship

Despite his bad experience in the political field, Igor Kolomoisky was and remains a financial sponsor of many political figures, whom he helps to get to power. True, the oligarch's "landmarks" are rather contradictory and inconsistent - at first he actively supported the Orange Revolution and his countrywoman, then in the person of Viktor Yushchenko he saw the most careful leader of the country. At the same time, he found allies for himself in the new government, without relying on a specific person.

Kolomoisky actively supports the VO "Svoboda" and its leader Oleg Tyagnibok, investing millions in the development of this political force, leading a pronounced nationalist struggle in Ukraine. At the same time, he himself maintains the National Defense Regiment of the Dnipropetrovsk region, sponsors the volunteer battalions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the "Right Sector", spending about $ 10 million a month on this. Moreover, he introduced an action to delay the representatives of the self-proclaimed LPR and DPR, for each member of which he promised a reward of 10 thousand dollars.

Ihor Kolomoisky also sponsors the development of Ukrainian football, which he has been a fan of since childhood. He is still the head of the Dnipro football club and holds the post of vice-president of the Ukrainian Football Federation. In 2008, the ArenaDnipro stadium was built in Dnepropetrovsk with the money of the oligarch, the construction of which took about 45 million euros.

In early 2014, Igor Kolomoisky and the current head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov were put on the international wanted list by the Russian IC. The oligarch and the official are suspected of organizing murders, kidnapping, obstructing lawful journalistic activities and using prohibited methods of warfare, which they used at all stages of the armed confrontation in eastern Ukraine. Now the investigators of the Russian Federation have not yet finally collected the evidence base of the crimes committed by the Ukrainian oligarch, therefore they cannot arrest Kolomoisky.

Personal life

The personal life of Igor Kolomoisky for the society is "a secret behind seven seals", like the business of the oligarch. It is known that at the age of 20, the future billionaire married a girl Irina, with whom he has been living for more than 30 years. Igor Kolomoisky's wife has been living in Geneva since the beginning of 2000. The billionaire's family has two adult children - Grigory and Angelica, who are citizens of other countries.

At the same time, Igor Valerievich himself has three citizenships - Israeli, Cypriot and Ukrainian, which is contrary to the legislation of Ukraine. But he considers himself a law-abiding citizen and an international businessman. According to Correspondent, his children are in the top ten of the TOP of the richest heirs, they already have $ 3.3 billion in their accounts.

In addition to business, politics, the army and football, Igor Kolomoisky is fond of reading, giving preference to biographies of famous military leaders, dictators and politicians.

condition

Igor Kolomoisky's fortune in 2015 is estimated at $ 1.4 billion, which is $ 400 million less than in 2014. At the same time, there is no accurate information about the possessions and property of the oligarch. As the Dnepropetrovsk governor, he, of course, filed an official declaration of income, where he declared about 700 million hryvnia, 516 of which accounted for interest and dividends.

It is also known that the billionaire owns a luxury villa in Switzerland, located on 1.5 hectares of land on the shores of Lake Geneva. At the same time, Kolomoisky lives most of the time in Dnepropetrovsk, since his business assets and enterprises are concentrated here, any production decisions on which are discussed directly with him personally.

From March 2, 2014 to March 24, 2015, Chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration.

Kolomoisky Igor Valerievich - an entrepreneur with Ukrainian and Israeli citizenship, a member of the supervisory boards of PrivatBank, the oil refinery Naftokhimik Prykarpattya, as well as the oil-producing company Ukrnafta, vice-president of the Football Federation of Ukraine, according to a number of political scientists - one of the most influential people in Ukraine.

In September 2017, the property of the Ukrainian oligarch Igor Kolomoisky was arrested by a court decision. Such an interim measure was imposed within the framework of a criminal case on embezzlement of Privatbank funds. Until the final verdict is issued, the ex-governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region will not be able to dispose of the property.

Irina Kolomoiskaya in the camp, the future wife of a businessman stands on the right

Very little is known about Igor Kolomoisky's wife, as well as about his children. The businessman's wife's name is Irina, they met at the age of 15 in a pioneer camp, and since that moment have not been separated.

Igor Kolomoisky in 2011 gave his daughter Angelica in marriage to an Israeli Oleg Bokoev. The couple abandoned the traditional Jewish chuppah wedding ceremony, and the wedding took place according to the secular canons. So, most likely, Angelica's chosen one is not a Jew, the newspaper Segodnya writes.

On his Facebook page, Oleg has photos only with Angelica, and her splash photo is also with Oleg. Both have their place of residence indicated on the social network - Geneva, Switzerland. Most likely, the newlyweds met there. Angelica went to study at a Geneva business school as an economist a few years ago (studying here costs from $ 20.5 thousand to $ 26 thousand), and Kolomoisky himself said that he gives his daughter $ 5,000 a month for pocket expenses.

The wedding of the heiress of the billionaire took place in the most luxurious hotel in Israel - Herods (from English - Herod) in Eilat. The hotel is located on the shores of the Red Sea. All the Ukrainian and Jewish business elite attended the wedding ceremony. The invitees flew to the celebration on several planes. “I flew in an hour ago. Now all the guests are waiting at the hotel. About 300 people are somewhere,” said Andrey Stetsenko, the general director of the Dnipro football club, which belongs to Kolomoisky. these are definitely not kitchen utensils. I haven’t seen the groom live yet. I don’t even know who he is and how much I met with Angelica before asking for a hand. "

According to the Israeli media, the celebration took place in a special tent in the desert 30 km from the city.

Gregory's son plays basketball, studies in the United States and holds a Swiss passport. Kolomoisky himself in December 2018 said in an interview with Dmitry Gordon that his son plays basketball: “He plays in the team of the first division of the NCAA student league. Not yet in the starting line-up, but in the first application. "

"Tribune" found out that Kolomoisky's son's name is Gregory, he is 19 years old and he is studying at the University of Cleveland (USA) with a degree in sports management.

“Gregory has a Swiss passport and many indicate him as a Swiss citizen. In the questionnaire on the student team's page, his city of birth is Geneva. "

Private bussiness

Igor Kolomoisky's giftedness and entrepreneurial spirit began to manifest itself back in early age: he made his first money at about 10-11 years old. The first "gesheft" was the delivery of bottles. Now he himself jokes that it was a street, and the unacceptable did not survive on the street.

As for the first serious money, Igor Kolomoisky earned it by enlarging small photographs. In just a month, he was able to receive 10 thousand rubles of income, which at that time (1985) exceeded the cost of the "Zhiguli". But Igor Kolomoisky managed to earn his first million by founding the Sentosa company, whose main activity was the resale of various office equipment, consumer goods, oil and ferroalloys. But in 1992 Igor Kolomoisky became one of the founders of PrivatBank. It is noteworthy that initially he himself did not particularly welcome the idea of creating such an institution. Note that PrivatBank has been repeatedly recognized as one of the most progressive banks in Europe, and Privat24, frankly speaking, plunges many Europeans into shock, because their analogs are not developed at this level.

Political contribution to Ukraine

Igor Kolomoisky did not, of course, remain aloof from politics. He became the person who was able to keep the Dnipropetrovsk region at the most critical moment: in 2014-2015 he was its governor, which, in fact, is one of his greatest achievements in Ukraine. Note, contrary to all rumors that he was appointed to this position, Igor Kolomoisky himself showed such an initiative. Perhaps, if some Ukrainian oligarchs followed his example, then, perhaps, the temporarily occupied Donetsk and Lugansk regions would not have become such, but judging about this is already quite irrelevant.

“Let's not speak pretentiously: patriotism, love for a small homeland ... I didn't want it to be like in Crimea. There was always a feeling that Ukraine, which has been striving for independence for so many years, cannot lose it so trivially, ”- such a statement on this occasion Igor Kolomoisky made in a recent interview with journalist Dmitry Gordon.

At the same time, one cannot but recall that now even documentaries are being released in which they try to diminish his contribution and convey the role of the savior and, so to speak, "strong hand" to a completely different person, namely: Alexander Petrovsky, he is also known as "Narik" ...

The main "raider" of the country

The fact that the Privat group is the main raider of Ukraine has been repeatedly stated in the media. Many are talking about it officially. In particular, Andriy Semididko, Executive Director of the Anti-Raider Union of Entrepreneurs of Ukraine. The list of enterprises listed by him that suffered from the activities of Kolomoisky and his henchmen include the Ozerka market, Dniprofarm, Dnepropetrovsk House of Life, NPO Teplotekhnika, Kiev Technical Paper Plant and many others.

There is another list of those who were shot, died from numerous knife wounds and miraculously escaped death after the assassination attempts. It was made public under oath at the London court by the famous businessman Konstantin Grigorishin. This list includes former business partners, competitors, and those who tried to "spin" criminal cases against Kolomoisky.

Arrest of Kolomoisky's property

In September 2017, it became known that the property of the Ukrainian oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky was arrested by a court decision. Such an interim measure was imposed within the framework of a criminal case on embezzlement of Privatbank funds. Until the final verdict is issued, the ex-governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region will not be able to dispose of the property.

The decision to arrest the property was made by the Pechersk District Court of Kiev, according to Ukrainskiye Novosti, citing court materials. The prosecution requested a similar measure. Objects of property registered to various legal entities, the ultimate beneficiary of which is Kolomoisky, were arrested.

In the near future, the oligarch and his firms will not be able to use the building of the Biola plant in Dnepr (formerly Dnepropetrovsk), an office building in Kiev rented by the Studio 1 + 1 TV and radio company and a Boeing 767-300 passenger plane. In addition, the court arrested non-residential buildings in Kiev and Dnieper, land and a grain terminal in the Odessa region, a trade pavilion in Odessa.

The materials of the court note that the officials of Privatbank, through abuse of their official position during 2014, illegally seized state funds of the National Bank in the amount of more than 19 billion hryvnia (about $ 730 million at the current exchange rate) allocated for refinancing.

National Bank of Ukraine in 2008-2016 provided Privatbank with loans for a total of 267 billion hryvnia ($ 10.26 billion). However, a giant hole was discovered in the capital of the largest private Ukrainian bank. Ultimately, the Ukrainian government nationalized Privatbank in December 2016, explaining this by the bank's difficult financial situation. Its largest shareholder was Igor Kolomoisky. Now 100% of Privatbank shares belong to the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine. It bought them for 1 hryvnia.

After nationalization, the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine began checking the spending of funds and opened a criminal case on embezzlement. The former officials of the organization were searched. According to the investigation, Privatbank spent almost all the money received from the state on issuing loans to related legal entities on conditions that were obviously unfavorable for the bank, despite the legal ban on such operations.

In fact, Kolomoisky gave out state money to himself. The loans were pledged not by liquid assets, but by shares of the companies' corporate rights, while Privatofis was the guarantor of securing the fulfillment of obligations to Privatbank, the founders of which are also companies close to the odious oligarch. In April 2017, at the request of the prosecutor's office in the framework of a criminal case of embezzlement in Privatbank, a security arrest was imposed on all 415 properties of Privatofis.

Scandals

In the evening, on March 19, 2015, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Igor Kolomoisky, accompanied by armed people, arrived at the Kiev office of Ukrtransnafta on 17/8 Kutuzov Street. Arriving to understand the change in management of the enterprise, Kolomoisky swore at the journalist of Radio Liberty, noting that Svoboda had destroyed the Soviet Union. According to Kolomoisky, they freed the building of Ukrtransnafta from Russian saboteurs and all this is a pitiful semblance of a raider takeover. After leaving the office of Ukrtransnafta, the governor of Dnepropetrovsk region announced that he was going to Bankova Street to the Administration of the President of Ukraine.

On March 21, 2015, President Petro Poroshenko reprimanded Dnepropetrovsk Governor Igor Kolomoisky. This is stated in the presidential decree posted on the official website of the president. The reprimand was pronounced "for violation of the rules of professional ethics and an act defaming him as a civil servant."

On March 21, 2015 Igor Kolomoisky gave an extensive interview to the TSN-Tyzhden program. In it, he spoke about the true motives of those who seized the state-owned enterprise "Ukrtransnafta", about his interest in this company, about the situation at the front and in the economy. Kolomoisky said that the figure of People's Deputy Eremeyev was behind the scandal, and he had no need to apologize to Mr. Andrushko for harsh words.

"I will not apologize to Andrushko, but to all the journalists, sorry," said the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration.

“In terms of form, as a civil servant of the first rank, I should not behave like that, I admit it. This is wrong and not good. But I will not shake hands with Mr. Andrushko and I will not apologize. I can apologize to the journalistic community. ", - explained Kolomoisky.

“And I accepted the reprimand, signed it yesterday and admitted that I shouldn't have behaved like that,” added the head of the region.

Banned from the USA

The Americans even declared the Dnipropetrovsk region a dangerous zone for businessmen in connection with the aggressive actions of the oligarch Kolomoisky. "There are many problems with corruption and many lost opportunities," - this is how William Miller, the former US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to this country, recently described the situation in Ukraine in one short phrase. According to him, overseas politicians and businessmen are particularly concerned about problems in the judicial and legal sphere and in curbing corruption in the economy.

According to media reports, in February 2009, Igor Kolomoisky was even banned from entering the United States. The name of this businessman sounded in the report of the US Attorney General Michael Mucasy as a person whose activities pose a real threat to the national security of the United States and European countries.

Oil business

In August 2014, the prosecutor's office initiated criminal proceedings on the facts of violations of the law when pumping technical oil from the Ukrtransneft pipeline system. Yarema clarified that the proceedings are carried out under Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Abuse of power or official position."

A parliamentary source confirmed to Ukrainska Pravda that this is an episode of pumping out technical oil by the management of Ukrtransneft, loyal to the head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional administration, Igor Kolomoisky.

Kolomoisky himself, in an interview with Channel 5, said that the oil was pumped out so that it would not go to the separatists in eastern Ukraine.

At the same time, according to the investigation, oil was also pumped out in areas that were not under the control of the separatists.

PRIVATE

According to the Internet publication proUA, Igor Kolomoisky exercises control over such commercial enterprises:

As mentioned above, Igor Kolomoisky is also associated with the UNIAN news agency and Vladimir Putin, as well as Rinat Akhmetov and Gazeta po-Kievski. In 2007, Privat acquired a 3% stake in Central European Media Enterprises Ltd for $ 100 million, which controls the Studio 1 + 1 TV channel.

At the end of December 2007, Kolomoisky acquired 12.62% of the shares of the British oil and gas company JKX Oil & Gas, about 80% of whose oil and gas assets are located in Ukraine. According to some information, Igor Kolomoisky in 2007 bought a 3.3% stake in Ferrexpo, a company of Konstantin Zhevago.

Airlines

This is how UIA aircraft look like - former AeroSvit aircraft

Igor Kolomoisky became the owner of Ukraine International Airlines, the brother of the Minister of Education Mikhail Tabachnyk left this business. Kommersant-Ukraine writes about this with reference to sources in the company.

This decision was made at the UIA shareholders meeting on December 31. As a result, the supervisory board was reduced from five to four people - this is provided for by the new version of the company's charter, the press service of UIA said.

According to the newspaper, we are talking about Mikhail Tabachnik - the brother of the Minister of Education and Science, Youth and Sports Dmitry Tabachnik, according to sources at UIA. He has been a member of the supervisory board of the company for half a year, since July 2012. According to the data of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission, Tabachnik did not directly own UIA shares.

At the end of 2012, information on the change of UIA shareholders appeared in the information disclosure system of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission. According to the issuer's report, in the third quarter the Cypriot Ontobet Promotions Limited concentrated 25.83% of UIA shares. Capital Investment Project increased its share from 51.64% to 74.16%.

The assets of AviaSvit, which is in the process of bankruptcy, will be transferred to Ukraine International Airlines, and the debts will remain to creditors. The beginning of the bankruptcy procedure of the largest domestic airline AeroSvit, which, according to the State Aviation Service, until recently provided 37% of the volume of passenger air transportation, may become, albeit painful, but still a technical step to restructure the aviation business of the financial and industrial group owned by Igor Kolomoisky. Privat ".

The information that appeared about all of the above events suggests that throughout 2012 Kolomoisky supported the existence of AeroSvit, only waiting for the registration of control over another company, which could transfer the liquid assets of the largest Ukrainian air carrier.

This is indicated, for example, by the fact that, according to the head of the State Aviation Administration, in 2012 the amount of Aerosvit's debts did not change significantly. That is, the company that owes 4.27 billion UAH at the end of 2012. with a total book value of assets of UAH 1.467 billion, it was possible to start bankruptcy a year ago.

Kolomoisky bankrupt Aerosvit so that Yanukovych's son doesn't get it

The desire of the management of the Ukrainian airline "Aerosvit" to initiate the procedure for its own bankruptcy, besides financial, could also have political reasons, according to Ukrainian political scientists, writes BFM.ru.

The fact that the company has financial problems does not raise doubts either among industry experts or political scientists. The media have repeatedly written about the company's unprofitability - that is, there is no talk of staging financial problems. But there are other reasons as well: the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, who controls the company, has long strained relations with the Ukrainian authorities.

Kolomoisky was considered one of the main contenders from the very beginning for the role of the Ukrainian Khodorkovsky. On the sidelines, they say that most of the working capital of PrivatBank, the largest bank in Ukraine and the basis of Kolomoisky's empire, has been withdrawn. And this is a means of Kolomoisky's self-defense against possible "raids" of new Ukrainian oligarchs, ”Volodymyr Fesenko, director of the Penta political analysis center, told BFM.ru.

Ukrainian economist Oleg Soskin told Novy Region about the political reasons for the actions of the airline's management: in his opinion, Igor Kolomoisky went to the bankruptcy of Aerosvit airline to avoid its capture by the structures of President's eldest son Alexander Yanukovych.

reference: In mid-January 2013, information appeared that Igor Kolomoisky was threatening to collapse the hryvnia if attacks on his business continued.

Zakhar Chistyakov, managing partner of the conflict PR agency - PR i Z, said that, according to some sources, in response to the possibility of the seizure of Aerosvit by the president's son Alexander Yanukovych, the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky threatened to collapse the Ukrainian hryvnia exchange rate with the help of his PrivatBank, writes Vlast. ...

“There is information that Igor Kolomoisky is threatening to collapse the hryvnia if attacks on his business continue. It is worth noting that Kolomoisky is perhaps the only oligarch of this level in Ukraine, whose interests are poorly represented in the legislative and executive branches, and in the power structures. Nevertheless, he is the only oligarch whose influence on the country's economy can be most tangible. PrivatBank is the most powerful financial structure in Ukraine, and any slightest changes in its work can significantly correct the situation in the country.

Ratings and status

In 2006, the magazine "Correspondent" estimated the assets of Igor Kolomoisky at $ 2.8 billion. In 2007, Forbes magazine estimated the capital of Kolomoisky at $ 1.2 billion, and the magazine "Focus" - at $ 3.3. 2010 - $ 6.5 billion

In 2011, Igor Kolomoisky had to moderate his buying ardor in Ukraine and focus on acquisitions abroad. North America's largest ferrosilicon producer CC Metals & Alloys and Danish airline Cimber Sterling joined its list of assets.

Thus, Kolomoisky is expanding his Scandinavian aircraft fleet, which already includes Swedish Skyways and City Airline. Meanwhile, his Ukrainian air carrier AeroSvit has far from brilliant performance. Ukraine's largest airline received UAH 1.45 billion last year. net loss, increasing it more than threefold. In "AeroSvit" such results are explained by the aggressive development of the company, as well as by the increase in fuel and service costs.

So far, Igor Kolomoisky has not managed to buy goods at the grand sale of the country's energy assets, arranged last and this year by the State Property Fund. Dniproenergo, which had long been of interest to the businessman, had to yield to Rinat Akhmetov without a fight. The participation of Kolomoisky's structures in the auction for a part of Kyivenergo was rather symbolic - the company also added to the list of assets of businessman No. 1 in the Focus rating.

However, Privatans can console themselves with their successes in the oil and gas sector, which testify to an established dialogue with the authorities. Thus, the Kremenchug refinery of the Privat group received a good load, having won the Ukrtransnafta tender for the processing of Azerbaijani oil, which was again supplied in May last year after the signing of a bilateral state agreement. In addition, thanks to several court decisions, the Privat Group was able to channel the gas produced by Ukrnafta to the controlled ammonia and nitrogen fertilizer producer DneprAzot, rather than transfer it to Naftogaz Ukrainy, which owns a controlling stake in Ukraine's leading gas producer. Due to this, DneprAzot pleased its owners with a net profit of UAH 563 million. in 2011 against a loss of UAH 145 million. a year earlier.

Media assets

In August 2007, Kolomoisky for $ 110 million acquired 3 percent of the shares of the largest television company in Eastern Europe - the Bermuda corporation Central European Media Enterprises (CME), which owned the leading television companies in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Slovenia, Croatia and controlled the Ukrainian channel 1 + 1 "- and entered its board of directors. In February 2008, CME announced the buyback of 30 percent of 1 + 1 from Rodnyansky and Fuksman for $ 219.6 million, of which 140 million were intended for Kolomoisky "as compensation for the option to buy a stake in 1+ 1"". In October 2008, CME bought another 10 percent of the channel from them. As of April 2009, Kolomoisky owned about 4 percent of CME. In July 2009, the corporation entered into an agreement with Kolomoisky that he would transfer 100 percent of the shares of the TET TV channel to the corporation, and also invest $ 100 million in the development of the 1 + 1 group. It was reported that in this way the group will include the TV channels "1 + 1", "1 + 1 International", "Kino" and "TET"; while 49 percent of the group's shares will belong to Kolomoisky, 51 percent will remain in the ownership of CME. In January 2010, CME announced in a press release that it had entered into a deal with the Kolomoisky-controlled Harley Trading Limited to sell 100 percent of the 1 + 1 and Kino channels. The deal was valued at $ 300 million, plus $ 19 million to support the 1 + 1 transition period. The deal was closed in April 2010: just for "1 + 1" and "Kino" CME received $ 308 million.

The media also wrote about other media assets belonging to Kolomoisky, among which were mentioned the Gazeta po-Kievski and the UNIAN news agency. Kolomoisky was also a co-owner (together with another well-known Jewish businessman Vadim Rabinovich) of the 24-hour Jewish TV channel Jewish News 1 (JN1), which began broadcasting in eight languages in September 2011. ,

In June 2012, the 1 + 1 group, owned by Kolomoisky, bought the Real Estate TV channel, on the frequencies of which 2 + 2 will now be broadcast. The most significant asset of Real Estate TV is the digital broadcasting license, which the 2 + 2 channel did not receive during the competitions held in 2011. Therefore, after 2015, the channel had to disappear from the air.

"1 + 1" does not comment on the details of the deal. The general director of the group, Alexander Tkachenko, told the publication only that the group "expects the success of the channel in digital format."

Taxes and debts

In one of his interviews, Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Dmitry Vydrin said that when trying to return some debts, Igor Kolomoisky answered him: "I do not pay taxes and I do not return debts." Igor Valerievich denies this fact and says that Vydrin has apologized to him more than once for this. True, privately, not publicly. “If I can throw someone, then I throw it” and “I don’t pay taxes at all” - these are the principles of Igor Kolomoisky. This is stated not only by Dmitry Vydrin, but also by Konstantin Grigorishin (Kievsky Telegraph, September 5, 2005). In September 2008, the State Tax Administration of Ukraine revealed a new tax evasion scheme used by the companies of the Privat group. Using this scheme, Privat allegedly saved UAH 400 million on taxes. According to the State Tax Administration, after it had "exposed" the company "Vesna", the group simply replaced it with another enterprise. For this, the company Demol-Service was urgently registered in the Khmelnytsky region, which continued to operate according to an established scheme.

Kolomoisky's empire

Business analysts believe that Igor Kolomoisky's Privat group directly or indirectly includes more than 100 enterprises in Ukraine and the world. Here are just some of the companies from the huge list:

 • Afina Investments Ltd;
 • Alan Investments S.A .;
 • Albroath International Corp;
 • Alexton Holdings Limited;
 • Allstream Ventures Ltd;
 • Almanzar Holdings Limited;

Chief Jew of Europe

Chief Jew

Triple citizen

Hebrew-speaking and Western media call Kolomoisky either a Ukrainian or an international businessman. At the same time, he has been a citizen of Israel since 1995. Judging by the data of Polish and Ukrainian publications, Kolomoisky is the richest or second in terms of wealth among the citizens of the Jewish state.

The businessman himself spoke about his Israeli passport, speaking in July 2007 at the London Arbitration Court. Kolomoisky was suing Russian Konstantin Grigorishin, and during the trial he said that he lived in the city of Herzliya.

This caused problems for a businessman in Ukraine, since according to local legislation, dual citizenship is prohibited, and in case of documentary confirmation of such, Kolomoisky should be deprived of his Ukrainian citizenship. However, according to the Ukrainian media, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic does not have the relevant documents, and the Israeli side refuses to provide such information.

Nevertheless, the fact that the businessman lives in Israel is confirmed by the fact that in early 2007 he lost in a lawsuit against the persons who sold him his current residence. Judging by the case file, in 1997 Kolomoisky and his wife entered into a deal to buy a house on 48 Galei Thelet Street in Herzliya Pituach, one of the most prestigious areas of Israel. The house is located near the residence of the US Ambassador.

By mistake, a land plot was registered in the name of Kolomoisky, which the sellers had previously sold to another buyer. The billionaire's lawyers were in no hurry to admit the mistake and return the "extra" plot, arguing that after the transaction was registered in the land registers, it was too late to change anything, and the sellers and other buyers themselves were to blame for not taking the trouble to properly register their deal ... However, as a result of the case, Kolomoisky had not only to return the plot, but also to pay legal costs in the amount of 10 thousand dollars.

Kolomoisky periodically visits Israel, but, according to Ukrainian journalists, he still spends most of his time in his native Dnepropetrovsk.

Kolomoisky is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Jewish community of Dnepropetrovsk, and one of its main sponsors. He has close relations with the religious leader of the Dnepropetrovsk community, the envoy of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Shmuel Kaminetsky. Kaminetsky is an absolute spiritual authority for Kolomoisky. As noted by some Israeli entrepreneurs working in Ukraine, the rabbi has special influence over this billionaire. In turn, people from Kolomoisky's inner circle sincerely believe that he owes his well-being to a large extent precisely to Kaminetsky's “mentoring”. In this regard, there are even legends: supposedly such an experienced businessman does not start a single new project without the blessing of the "venerable rabbi."

In 2010, he was elected head of the European Jewish Council for a term of 5 years.

In October 2014, Igor Kolomoisky admitted that he has passports of two more states, besides the Ukrainian one.

He announced this to Radio Liberty under the walls of the Verkhovna Rada, where he arrived in the same car with a member of the Popular Front, People's Deputy Andrei Ivanchuk. When asked by a journalist about Swiss citizenship, Kolomoisky answered negatively, and said that the Inter TV channel had already shown what kind of passports the head of the Dnipropetrovsk region had.

"Don't you watch the Inter TV channel? Lyovochkin listed all passports there except for the Maltese, there is no Maltese," said Kolomoisky. After that, the journalist clarified whether the official was joking when speaking about his citizenship, to which Kolomoisky replied that he really had two more passports, besides the Ukrainian one.

"Besides Ukrainian? Israeli and Cypriot," the head of the Dnipropetrovsk region said.

The journalist tried to clarify with the official whether this is legal, to which Kolomoisky replied that yes, it is. According to him, the Constitution does not prohibit the heads of the Regional State Administration to have triple citizenship.

"And the Constitution says that dual citizenship is prohibited. And triple citizenship is not prohibited," said the chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration.

Philanthropist and football fan

In October 2007 Igor Kolomoisky and his PrivatBank partner Gennady Bogolyubov sponsored the construction of a new Yad Vashem Memorial in Israel. The new museum complex, designed by renowned Israeli architect Moshe Safdi, includes a history museum that is three times the size of the old museum, an art museum, an exhibition pavilion, a new Hall of Names, a video center, an education center and a synagogue.

But in addition to charitable activities, Kolomoisky, vice-president of the Football Federation of Ukraine, tried to buy a football team in Israel. In particular, according to the Israeli sports news portal One.co.il, at the end of 2007 he wanted to acquire the Maccabi-Tel Aviv football club. However, at the last moment the deal fell through. At the end of December 2007, this club was acquired by the Russian-speaking Canadian billionaire who is also an Israeli citizen - Alex Schneider Apparently, negotiations on the acquisition of the club were conducted by Kolomoisky and Schneider at the same time, only each of them communicated with another representative of the club's management - Kolomoisky - with David Federman, and Schneider - with Roni Mana.

Relations

Kolomoisky - Saakashvili

On September 7, 2017, on the eve of the "breakthrough", the ex-president of Georgia, Former Mikhail Saakashvili, met with the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky.

Sources from Kolomoisky's entourage reported this to Ukrainian truth. According to them, the meeting took place in Geneva at the Four Seasons Hotel.

"He flew in, had dinner. He said (Saakashvili) that he was going to go (to Ukraine - ed.)," The source said.

In September 2017, the director of the Ukrainian Barometer sociological service, Viktor Nebozhenko, told 24 TV channel that the presidential administration is actively spreading the version that Kolomoisky is sponsoring the former Georgian leader and Odessa governor Mikhail Saakashvili. "This is due to the fact that it is important for Poroshenko to find a new way of accusing Kolomoisky in order to seize a new portion of property," the sociologist noted.

Kolomoisky - Shokin

Kolomoisky - Berezovsky

An interesting fact is Igor Kolomoisky long years maintains friendly relations with the disgraced Russian oligarch Boris Berezovsky. Russian media note that it is in Israel that he prefers to meet with some other Jewish billionaires from the former USSR, in particular, with the same Berezovsky. Information on this topic was circulated in the press at the height of the political crisis in Ukraine at the end of 2005. The Kompromat.Ru website even published an alleged correspondence between Kolomoisky and Berezovsky, in which the former asks the latter to come to Israel for a meeting. And in the future, they have repeatedly met (and continue to meet) on the territory of Israel, of which both are citizens.

Kolomoisky - Yushchenko

I am a fan of Yushchenko

The media often associate Kolomoisky with ex-President Viktor Yushchenko. The oligarch expressed his attitude to the latter in an interview: “Yes, I am a fan of Yushchenko. Because he is very careful and gentle to the economy, does not touch it with his hands. He refers to her as a self-regulating organism. - Why didn't you support him in 2004? - Supported, but morally, otherwise I could not. In addition, no one approached me, except for one adventurer there by the name of Trofimenko, who was building the Troitsky shopping center near the Olympic stadium. We had some conversations about supporting Yushchenko, but they never ended with anything. "

At the same time, many political analysts say that Kolomoisky definitely had his hand in financing the presidential candidate Yushchenko's campaign.

The conflict that arose between the then President Yushchenko and the government headed by Yulia Timoshenko over the privatization of the Odesa Port Plant OJSC is also widely known. Summing up the attempt to sell the OPP for $ 5 billion to Nortima LLC, behind which is businessman Kolomoisky, Yushchenko then stated that the government could not honestly, publicly and legally dispose of such assets.

Kolomoisky - Tigipko

Ihor Kolomoisky also has rather close relations with the current government official, a prominent businessman and leader of the Strong Ukraine party, Serhiy Tigipko. During the 2010 presidential campaign, the media have repeatedly stated that Kolomoisky is negotiating to support Sergei Tigipko in exchange for political patronage. Tigipko himself, having finished third in the elections, said that he would not go to a post below the prime minister. He doesn't explain why he went. They say that by agreement with his old acquaintance and business partner - the same Igor Kolomoisky, at the same time Tigipko disowned information about the latter's support for his election campaign.

It unites Tigipko and Kolomoisky and a joint holding company created on the basis of the Dneprodzerzhinsky and Kryukovsky car-building plants, as well as the Kremenchug steel plant.

Kolomoisky - Tyagnibok

Svobodovets

Kolomoisky is also linked with the leader of the VO "Svoboda" Oleg Tyagnibok, noting that the oligarch is actively involved in financing this political force. Kolomoisky himself clarified that he sees how "Svoboda" has clearly shifted from ultranationalism closer to the center, has become more moderate ", so it has every chance of becoming a very promising force. Quite a controversial reaction was caused by Kolomoisky's statements about "Freedom" among the Jewish community. Thus, the president of the Ukrainian Independent Council of Jewish Women, Eleonora Groisman, regarded such statements by Kolomoisky as assenting and supporting Tyagnibok's party, dividing Ukrainian citizens into ethnic Ukrainians, who are entitled and allowed to do everything, and representatives of national minorities - second-class people. Thus, Kolomoisky contributes to Tyagnibok's fomenting of the fire of xenophobia and anti-Semitism in Ukraine.

Kolomoisky - Yanukovych

Igor Kolomoisky is rather cautious about Viktor Yanukovych and his associates: “We must all be aware that Yanukovych and the company are an established, well-structured, close-knit and cynical industrial and political corporation, which is convinced that its interests are above the interests of the country and the people living in this country. For her, power is both an end and a means, and they will stop at nothing on the way to power and to retain this power. Let Ukraine collapse, but the Party of Regions will remain ”(“ Ukrainskaya Pravda ”, March 31, 2008).

Kolomoisky - Grigorishin

A criminal case was initiated against Igor Kolomoisky in connection with the attempt on the businessman's lawyer

For these assets, valued at $ 2-2.2 billion, Kolomoisky according to press reports, received $ 1 billion in cash and 9.27% of Evraz shares. This was not without conflicts, since Kolomoisky allegedly during the year he retained the management of Yuzhny GOK (the fourth largest iron ore mining and processing plant in Ukraine) and redistributed the profit received there in his favor. He also prevented the Sukha Balka GOK from being shipped to the Krivoy Rog iron ore plant, taking advantage of the fact that the access roads remained the property of the Privat Group after the GOK was sold. These actions were possibly explained by Kolomoisky's desire to improve the terms of the deal after its conclusion. As a result of a corporate conflict, in 2010 the Privat group lost its representation on the Evraz board of directors.

Kolomoisky numerous attempts of raider seizures of Ukrainian enterprises are credited, and the Privat group is called the “largest raider of Ukraine”. The structure of Privat is the security company B. OG - Security. Security. Guarantee ", organized by the former head of the Dnepropetrovsk regional police department, General Kozin, has repeatedly participated in the security of raider operations.
Received a critical assessment from Vladimir Putin during a press conference on March 4, 2014: “In Dnepropetrovsk, Mr. Kolomoisky brought to power as governor. But this is just a unique rogue. He even cheated our oligarch Abramovich two or three years ago. As we say in the circles of the enlightened intelligentsia, "threw" ... And now such a scoundrel is made governor, sent to Dnepropetrovsk. Of course, people are not happy. " Moreover, earlier Kolomoisky he spoke very harshly about Viktor Yanukovych and Vladimir Putin, calling them two schizophrenics.
